praying effectively: Treat Everyone With Respect (Lev.19)

(Leviticus 19:13-15)  ‘You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob himThe wages of a hired man are not to remain with you all night until morning. 14 You shall not curse a deaf man, nor place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall revere your God; I am the Lord.

15 You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we do not favor the rich (Lv.19:15)
- that we do not oppress our neighbor (Lv.19:13)
- that we do not oppress the handicapped (Lv.19:14)
- that we do not oppress the poor (Lv.19:15)
- that we respect all people (Lv.19:14)
- that we respect everyone because we respect the Lord (Lv.19:14)
- that we respect the Lord (Lv.19:14)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, You created and love all people.  You came to die for all people!  Each and every person is valuable in Your eyes.

Help us to love everyone as You do, treating them with kindness and respect.  Amen.
