Reminder: "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will. When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!
It is God's will:
- that we do not make false promises
- that we do not make false promises using God's name
Today's prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, You are the God of Truth. When we make promises, help us to keep them. Let us not use Your name in making false promises, because this does not represent You at all. It is taking Your name in vain. Help us to be honest and sincere, careful to make promises, and careful to do what we say. Amen.
