(Deuteronomy 22:6-7) “If you happen to come upon a bird’s nest along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young; 7 you shall certainly let the mother go, but the young you may take for yourself, in order that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days."
(Deuteronomy 25:4) “You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing."
Reminder: "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will. When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!
It is God's will:
- that we do not squander or deplete our resources (20:6-7)
- that we treat animals with kindness and respect (25:4)
Today's prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for creating nature! Not only can we enjoy its beauty, but it provides food and other help. Let us treat nature and animals with kind respect and do our part in efforts to sustain our resources that You have provided. Amen.
