praying effectively: Give to the Needy (Lev.19)

(Leviticus 19:9-10)  ‘Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10 Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am the Lord your God.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:  that we give to the needy

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You so much for Your generosity!  Help us to learn and be inspired by that, and give generously to the poor!  Give us wisdom to recognize the valid needs of people, in order to help those who are legitimately in need.

And if by some way we are lining the pockets of thieves and scam artists, convict their hearts and cause them to see their need for You.  Amen.
