praying effectively: Being Fruitful (Gen.9)

(Genesis 9:1-7)  And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given. Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that isits blood. Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man.
Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.
“As for you, be fruitful and multiply; populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we are able to eat all things which God has provided in a healthy manner
- that we are fruitful and multiply

Today's prayer:

Thank you Lord for the resources with which You have blessed us.  And thank You for providing food in so many ways.  I love food!!!  Help me better manage my intake!!!  Again, may we be responsible and caring towards everything You have created, and given to us to oversee.

Even more so, may we be caring and loving towards every person, for everyone has been created in Your image, and You love and care for each one.  May we be fruitful in our efforts of working diligently and spreading the gospel to the world.  May Your children fill the earth with Your light.
