praying effectively: Sing and Bless the Lord (Judges 5)

(Judges 5:2-3, 10-11a)
That the leaders led in Israel, that the people volunteered, Bless the Lord!
“Hear, O kings; give ear, O rulers! I—to the Lord, I will sing, I will sing praise to the Lord, the God of Israel.
10 You who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who travel on the road—sing!
11 “At the sound of those who divide flocks among the watering places, there they shall recount the righteous deeds of the Lord, the righteous deeds for His peasantry in Israel..."

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we bless the Lord (5:2)
- that we sing to the Lord (5:10)
- that we remember and talk about the good things the Lord has done (5:11)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I bless You and thank You for Your righteousness.  You have done so many amazing things for the world, as well as for me personally.

Thank You that You have given us the gift of music!  Let us use music to praise and glorify Your name!  Amen.
