JESUS and the Song of Moses (Deut.32-34)

Just before the Israelites entered the promised land, and just before Moses died, he wrote a song for them.  Within the song is a term used to describe Jesus...

(Deuteronomy 32:3-4)  “For I proclaim the name of the Lord; ascribe greatness to our God!  The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just;  a God of faithfulness and without injustice, righteous and upright is He...

(Deuteronomy 32:18)  You neglected the Rock who begot you, and forgot the God who gave you birth.

(Deuteronomy 32:31)  Indeed their rock is not like our Rock, even our enemies themselves judge this.

There are several verses in the New Testament that reinforce that Jesus is our Rock...
which we should build upon...

(Matthew 7:24)  "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock."

which we should place our faith in...

(Romans 9:33)  just as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offenseAnd he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

which we should drink from...

(1 Corinthians 10:4)  and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.

Jesus is our solid foundation, who is strong and giving.  It is a strong imagery.
