praying effectively: Support Missionaries (3John 1:5-8)

(3 John 1:5-8)  Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers; 6 and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. 7 For they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. 8 Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers with the truth.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:

- that we support missionaries, and by doing so, it is the same as if we are working alongside them (1:8)

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for equipping the saints with gifts and resources.  Help us all work together in unity and joyful generosity.  All to Your glory.  Amen.
