(John 4:24) “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Reminder: "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will. When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!
It is God's will:
- that we worship God in spirit (4:24)
- that we worship God in truth (4:24)
Today's prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for being Truth! Guide us towards better knowing You and Your truth.
Convict our hearts when we try to infuse our preferences into Your truth, thinking that we know better. But You are the Creator of everything - and You are all-knowing - and You love and care for us all. Help our faith in You grow, in order to trust You fully, fully trusting that Your truth is right and best for us. Thank You that when we live out Your truth, we see the difference. Being obedient to Your truth never fails!!!
Thank You for Your Spirit, and that You are spirit. Help us realize that we cannot physically do anything in order to earn salvation or Your love. You already love us. And salvation is only through believing in You and receiving Your Spirit into our hearts.
Help us remember daily to focus on and rely on Your Holy Spirit to spiritually fill us with Your love, peace, strength, patience, grace... Help us to remember to focus on and rely on Your Spirit more, and to guide and help us for each and every thing. Amen.
