praying effectively: Love the Lord (Mk.12, Mt.22)

(Mark 12:29-30)  Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; 30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’

(Matthew 22:37-38)  And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:  that we love the Lord God with all our heart, soul and mind (Mt.22:37-38, Mk.12:30)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, as we focus our studies right now on what Your will is - here it is - plain and simple - the most important thing is to love You.  Because You first loved us, help us to love You more, and more.  Help us to always put You first in every aspect of our lives.  Amen.
