praying effectively: Expect Appropriate Justice (Pv.6:30-31)

(Proverbs 6:30-31)
30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals tsatisfy himself when he is hungry;
31 But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold; he must give all the substance of his house.
Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:  that we do not hate people who steal out of necessity, but make sure that the proper justice is applied (6:30-31)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, keep us from becoming self-righteous or vindictive.  Help us to be forgiving towards anyone who has wronged us, no matter what their motives were.  And help us to have reasonable and practical expectations in how justice is to be carried out.  Give us as well as the legal system wisdom and discernment.  Amen.
