praying effectively: Exalt the Lord Our God (Ps.99)

(Psalm 99:1-9)
The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake!
The Lord is great in Zion, and He is exalted above all the peoples.
Let them praise Your great and awesome name; holy is He.
The strength of the King loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool; holy is He.
Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called on His name; they called upon the Lord and He answered them.
He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies and the statute that He gave them.
Lord our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, and yet an avenger of their evil deeds.
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His holy hill, for holy is the Lord our God.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we exalt our God (99:5, 9)
- that we worship at God's footstool (99:5, 9)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You that we are able to get close to You in order to worship You, because You make it possible, because You want to have a personal relationship with us and take care of us.  As we humble ourselves before You, may we exalt You and Your holy name.  Amen.
