praying effectively: Do Not Hinder People (Matt.19:14, Mk.10:13-16, Lk.18:16-17)

(Mark 10:13-16)  And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder themfor the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” 16 And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we do not hinder anyone from going to Jesus (Mt.19:14, Mk.10:14, Lk.18:16)
- that everyone must receive the gospel message humbly and joyfully, like a child (Mk.10:15, Lk.18:17)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for caring for each and everyone one of us.  Help us to never hinder anyone from going to You for salvation or help.  Guide us to Your patience, wisdom and understanding in order to witness to anyone of any age or cultural background.

Guide us in how we train up our children, equipping them with sound doctrine, and leading by example.

Help us to remain humble, always dependent on You for everything.  And may we always enthusiastically rush to Your loving, protective arms with joy, contentment and thanksgiving.  Amen.
