praying effectively: Do Not Be Haughty (Jer.13)

(Jeremiah 13:15-16)
15 Listen and give heed, do not be haughty, for the Lord has spoken.
16 Give glory to the Lord your God, before He brings darkness and before your feet stumble on the dusky mountains, and while you are hoping for light He makes it into deep darkness, and turns it into gloom.
Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that people listen and give heed to the Lord God (13:15)
- that people are not haughty and proud (13:15)
- that people humbly give glory to the Lord God (13:16)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for speaking to us so clearly.  Help us to always hear what You are saying, and desire to obey;  knowing that when we humbly submit to Your will, and do everything for and to Your glory, You bless us in ways that are extraordinary.

May the way we live, be a shining light to the world, reflecting Your righteous attributes.  Guide us and give us opportunities to share the gospel message to those whose hearts and minds You have been convicting and preparing, so that they will see their need for You in their lives.  Amen.
