eschatology, The Last Battle (Rev.20:7-10)

We have already seen scripture which describes the Millennium.  We know that only believers will enter the Millennial kingdom;  but these people will have many children, and those children will have many children, and so on.  All people born into this age will have a choice to make, whether to believe in Jesus or not.

At the end of the thousand years, Satan and his demons will be released.  Immediately, they will go throughout the world to deceive those who have NOT chosen to become believers.  Apparently, even under the near perfect conditions, and with everyone being obedient to Jesus and experiencing success in life, there will be many people who will still want to do things their own way, and will jump on board with Satan to challenge God.

But the Last Battle will be even shorter than the battle of Armageddon...

(Revelation 20:7-9)  When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

And just like the Antichrist and the false prophet, Satan and his demons are thrown into hell, since the demons have already made their choice, and have been judged for all eternity, there is no need for further judgment...

(Revelation 20:10)  And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Today's takeaway:  Adam and Eve DID have perfect conditions and chose to disobey God.  Since then, we've been given God's word (the Bible), which contains the Truth.  And God does not hold back on that.  He doesn't sugarcoat the sins of His chosen ones, or the sins of the people who did choose to believe in Him.  He loves us so much, He tells us all the facts of the issue, He gives us the solution, and He gives us the values of the solution!

Even though we have this timeless book, the Bible, which cannot be refuted, even by the smartest men on earth (and many have tried) - people still rely on their own wisdom.  And they turn to things like our history books - which ARE subjective!  We have no idea just how truthful those "facts" really are.

While in Budapest, Hungary, my husband and I got a chance to tour the House of Terror museum.  Besides the amazing testimonies of what many people experienced, we saw a huge collection of communist propaganda films and news articles.  WOW!!!  The lies which were used to control the people!.

And now with the internet, and the technological capabilities to take a few image and sound bytes and create a digital recording of someone saying - anything - without that person's knowledge or control.  Whatever is reported should be suspect.  But we STILL think we are able to learn from history in order to better our ways and build a better society... without God!!!

Over the last few decades, school science books have begun to say that evolution is fact.  This is still a theory, and a bad one at that.  More and more, there is evidence against it.  More and more, there is evidence to support the Bible and creationism.  Yet, people would still like to believe that they come from an accident - and that there is no purpose or worth - except what we ourselves are able to create for ourselves.  And then we wonder why there are so many people struggling with depression and anxiety.

The issue is sin!  The solution is salvation through Jesus who provides forgiveness for sins!  And the value is eternal life, purpose, and God's love, joy, peace, wisdom, strength, etc!

Solomon was the wisest man on earth.  And the richest.  He had the means to search out the earth for purpose and happiness.  He tried everything!  EVERYTHING!!!  Power, riches, women, other religions, partying, knowledge, doing good things... and found that everything under the sun was vanity!  WORTHLESS!!!  And so, his conclusion was to look "above the sun"...

(Ecclesiastes 12:1)  Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no delight in them”...

(Ecclesiastes 12:9-14)  In addition to being a wise man, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge; and he pondered, searched out and arranged many proverbs. 10 The Preacher sought to find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly.
11 The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd. 12 But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body.
13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

(Romans 3:10)  as it is written,
There is none righteous, not even one..
(Romans 3:23)  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

(Ephesians 2:1-10)  And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
