praying effectively: Avoid Worldly, Empty Chatter (1Tim. 6:20-21)

(1 Timothy 6:20-21)  O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge” 21 which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we guard and nurture our faith and walk with God, His wisdom and  the spiritual gifts which have been entrusted to us

- that we avoid worldly and empty chatter and false doctrines

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for the personal relationship we are able to have with You.  Help us see that it is not based on anyone's opinions or speculations, but on truth.  May we always continue seeking after Your truth;  and help us remain steadfast in our faith - in You - and You alone.  Amen.
