praying effectively: Gently Restore Others (Gal.6:1-5)

(Galatians 6:1-6)  Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritualrestore such a one in a spirit of gentlenesseach one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. For each one will bear his own load.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that we bear one another's burdens and help each other (6:2)
- that when a fellow believer commits any sin, (the more mature Christian/s) should restore them with a spirit of gentleness (6:1)
- that in the process of restoring a fellow Christian, we should mind our own actions so we are not also tempted (6:1)
- that we understand, we are all susceptible to falling and are responsible for our own actions only, so we need to examine our own actions (6:3-5)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your saving grace.  May we treat each other graciously, without judgment or arrogance.  Guide us in helping our fellow believers.  Give us the right words to say in order to edify and equip each other towards being more mature Christians, helping each other grow stronger in our faith.

Deliver us from evil, and protect us from temptations.  Help us recognize our own sinful behaviors so that we will go to Your for reconciliation.  Continually guide our desires to focus on You and Your will.  Amen.
