(Galatians 6:6-10) The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Reminder:
"praying effectively" involves knowing God's will. When we pray in His will (in His name), He
may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like,
or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!
It is God's will:
- that we are not deceived (6:7)
- that we understand what saves us, and then even while there is God's grace, when we sin, we will reap the consequences while here on earth, and when we do God's will, we will reap His blessings (6:7-8)
- that we do not lose heart or grow weary (6:9)
- that we continue doing heartfelt good (6:9)
- that we do good to all people as we have opportunity (6:10)
- that we especially do good to our fellow believers (6:10)
- that we treat our spiritual leaders and mentors with respect and share all good things with them (6:6)
Today's prayer:
As I like to say, clunk me on my head when there is an opportunity. Give me the right words and actions so that You may use me to Your glory. Amen.
