today's meditation (Ex.15:22-27) Seek God's Healing

(Dear Lord Jesus, guide me and give me insight as I read and study Your word...)

(Exodus 15:22-27)  Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore it was named Marah. 24 So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25 Then he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet.
There He made for them a statute and regulation, and there He tested them. 26 And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutesI will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.”
27 Then they came to Elim where there were twelve springs of water and seventy date palms, and they camped there beside the waters.

TODAY'S THOUGHTS AND MEDITATION:

Before Jesus' work on the cross, the Israelites had these promises of physical blessings, which SHOULD HAVE BEEN a great incentive to grow closer to the Lord!!!  How nice that would have been!!!  But it didn't take long for the Israelites to grumble and be disobedient.

Oh how our human nature struggles - even with promises of positive outcomes.  It just shows us our great need for salvation and God's grace!!!

Now, in the Church Age, we don't have the promise of physical health, even when we are obedient and living in God's will.  Certainly we should ask God for physical healing!  We can and should go to God for everything!  God still works miracles!
Recently, I heard the testimony of a paraplegic, who said his current condition was the greatest blessing of his life.  The car accident that led to his disability - led Him to Christ and salvation and spiritual healing.  Jesus made him whole.  It is Jesus who continually fills his life with unimaginable blessings.

So even if physical healing isn't in God's will for us, He is faithful and will heal and bless us spiritually.  This is far more valuable than physical health and blessings!
