praying effectively: Exalt in Tribulations (Rom.5)

(Romans 5:1-5)  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseveranceand perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

(Romans 5:11)  And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now receivethe reconciliation.

Reminder:  "praying effectively" involves knowing God's will.  When we pray in His will (in His name), He may choose to not answer those prayers in the time period that we would like, or HOW we would like - but He will answer those prayers!

It is God's will:
- that through faith in Jesus, we have reconciliation with God (5:11)
- that through faith in Jesus, we have peace with God (5:1)
- that through faith in Jesus, we can stand in God's grace (5:2)
- that through faith in Jesus, we can triumph in hope of God's glory (5:2)
- that through faith in Jesus, we can triumph in God (5:11)
- that we triumph in our tribulations (5:3)
- that we realize tribulations produce perseverance, proven character, hope and a deeper love for God (5:3-5)

Today's prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You - thank You - thank You!!!  I am overwhelmed by You.  Thank You for making it possible to be reconciled with You.  Thank You for giving us a hope, which is not wishy-washy, but a hope that is a secure knowledge of being in Your glory.

Thank You that we are able to experience Your grace, peace and strength - so that we are not only able to stand - but we are able to triumph in all things!!!  May we not be daunted when faced with tribulations, but help us to fully rely and rest in Your will.  Amen.
